About the Role

This is an intern/entry level mechanical/electrical engineering position focused on learning to develop, design, and implement mechanical and electrical components, assemblies, sales options, and product/process improvements. Working under the direction of an Engineering Manager and/or Senior Engineer, the role involves utilizing computer-aided drafting both individually and in a team environment to create optimal, cost-effective products and production processes. This position also provides support for new product launches and offers technical assistance to various departments.

What You’ll Do
• Complete engineering assignments with clear and specific objectives, involving existing and new technology products, materials, and components utilized in the Automotive, Transit and Mobility industry.
• Perform design calculations, prepare specifications, drawings, process layouts, capacity planning, and other sound engineering principles to implement into production processes.
• Support Work Order Review, Product Support Requests, and Product Design Plan programs.
• Assist in necessary testing of products and/or components.
• Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical/electrical components for products and changes.
• Assist in engineering changes on all designs and see them on schedule to assure maximum coordination of release from other engineering disciplines and actual production on date planned.
• Perform or assist with any operations, as required or directed, to maintain work flow or respond to production requirements.

You’re a Good Fit If You
• Have a Bachelors of Science degree in process of mechanical/electrical engineering or related degree.
• Possess the ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate instructions.
• Are able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
• Have working knowledge of Autodesk software, Solidworks or other related CAD software.
