Job Description:
This is a internship position within GE Vernova, Grid Solutions, specifically within their digital center of excellence located in Casablanca. Grid Solutions develops digital solutions to efficiently manage the evolving global electrical grid, focusing on energy transition, grid stability, environmental considerations, and cost optimization. The digital center in Casablanca develops and provides digital solutions that protect and control critical equipment in high-voltage substations.
The intern will participate in the development of technical solutions for projects aimed at developing new low-carbon interrupting chambers.
Specific responsibilities will include contributing to development of digital solutions for monitoring high-voltage equipment, and may include:
• Elaboration of an insulating gas monitoring simulator for high-voltage electrical interruption devices (circuit breakers/disconnectors).
• Development of an application for analyzing and filtering transient current/voltage regimes during high-voltage circuit breaker operations, in the context of CSD 100 (Controlled Switching Devices).
• Elaboration of a simulator of concentrations of various dissolved gases in insulating oil of power transformers.
The intern will be trained on the high-voltage equipment environment and HMI/IEDs during the initial period of the mission. The intern may also contribute to other related topics as needed by the project, and may be required to do programming related to the internship topic on IEDs.
