2026 Fall Commercial Growth Intern | Ephemeris Net
The Tone:
This is a Fall 2026 internship at Ephemeris Net, located in El Segundo, CA or Oakland, CA. Ephemeris Net is a pre-seed space networking company focused on extending the internet to space by laying the foundational networking layer for how data moves through space. This role is crucial for developing the commercial strategy, business models, and financial projections that will drive the company’s growth and customer acquisition, supporting its mission to provide connectivity for all space users. You will contribute to a small, focused team where your work directly affects the company’s trajectory.
The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Temporary (minimum 3 days/week for 3 months)
• Location: In-person, El Segundo, CA; Oakland, CA
• Pay: $70400 yearly (prorated)
• Team: Reports to Head of Government Programs & Finance or Head of Commercial Growth & Ops, with direct interfaces to the CEO and CTO.
• Mission: To build commercial strategies, financial projections, and market positioning that drive Ephemeris Net’s growth and customer acquisition.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Commercial Sales: Develop commercial sales proposals and supporting materials for prospective customers.
• Financial Modeling: Construct pricing models and business case analyses for new product offerings or customer engagements.
• Market Analysis: Conduct market mapping and competitive analysis to identify target customer segments, adjacent markets, and strategic partnership opportunities.
• Strategic Planning: Formulate strategic recommendations on market entry, partnership structures, or product positioning based on market insights.
• Business Translation: Translate insights between technical and business stakeholders to create compelling product narratives and drive business forward.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate or masters degree in business, finance, engineering, public policy, international relations, or a related field.
• Experience: Ability to work independently on a scoped project with mentorship; must be a US person (15 CFR § 772.1); ability to work on-site for a minimum of 3 months, 3 days a week.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills for building financial models, working with data, and structuring ambiguous problems; strong written and verbal communication skills for clear and persuasive communication under deadline pressure; adaptability to quickly shifting priorities in a startup environment.
• Bonus: Prior experience in consulting, investment banking, venture capital, private equity, corporate finance, or the aerospace, defense, or space industry; familiarity with venture capital fundraising processes and investor relations; experience building financial models (DCF, LBO, scenario analysis, startup unit economics); experience with market research, competitive analysis, or strategic planning.
