Job Description: Classification Algorithm Intern
Job Title: Intern – Classification Algorithm Development
About the Role: This internship focuses on developing a classification algorithm, potentially leveraging machine learning, to automate the assessment of print quality. The intern will play a key role in improving the efficiency of the current manual classification process.
Responsibilities:
• Sample Format Design: The internship begins with designing a standardized photo image format for print quality samples, ensuring this format is effective for use within the classification algorithm.
• Algorithm Selection/Model Training: The intern will then select an appropriate classification algorithm or train a machine learning model to automatically classify print quality based on the standardized images.
• Collaboration: The intern will work closely with and receive support from numerous experts within Canon Production Printing’s R&D team throughout the project.
Project Goal: Create a robust and accurate classification algorithm that automates the assessment of print quality from standardized photo images.
Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a BSc degree in Embedded Software or Data Science.
• Strong interest and demonstrated skills in Machine Learning.
• Ability to thrive in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Availability for a 4-6 month internship starting in February 2025, working a minimum of 5 days per week.
