The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Full-time or Part-time (Summer, early-June through mid-August)
• Location: In-person Tysons, VA
• Team: Reports to Senior Staff and Management Personnel, working collaboratively on client engagements.
• Mission: To provide hands-on experience in client engagements, develop technical accounting skills, and support audit processes, helping interns determine their career path in public accounting.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Audit Testing: Execute comprehensive audit testing procedures on key financial statement accounts, including cash, accounts payable, and fixed assets.
• Data Analysis: Collaborate with client personnel to meticulously reconcile account differences and perform in-depth analysis of financial data.
• Report Contribution: Assist in the crucial drafting of management letter comments and contribute to the preparation of the final audit report.
• Client Engagement: Actively participate in client meetings alongside experienced Forvis Mazars partners and managers, observing and contributing to discussions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Must be actively working towards CPA Exam eligibility, maintaining a minimum cumulative overall GPA of 3.0, and demonstrating satisfactory academic performance in major-related coursework.
• Experience: No prior professional experience is required, but a solid foundation of technical accounting knowledge is essential for this role. Interns will gain exposure comparable to entry-level associates.
