Assurance Intern – Winter 2028 (Atlanta) | BDO USA

The Tone:
This is a seasonal internship at BDO USA, located in Atlanta, GA. BDO provides assurance, tax, and advisory services to clients across the U.S. and around the world, helping them navigate complexity. As an intern, you will begin to utilize your educational background and organizational skills to serve the firm’s dynamic client base. This role offers a unique hands-on perspective on the firm’s practices and people, allowing you to forge critical relationships that will help maximize your career success.

• Mission: Assist in problem-solving and fact-finding for clients, gaining hands-on perspective on assurance practices and firm culture.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Training: Participate in a structured on-the-job training program to become familiar with accounting and auditing principles.
• Audit Support: Assist with various stages of the audit process, utilizing BDO specific audit methodology.
• Communication: Communicate with clients’ customers, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues.
• Documentation: Prepare and document work in working papers using BDO specific tools and templates.
• Research: Complete one assigned accounting or audit-related research project and present findings to Assurance professionals.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Accounting.
• Experience: No minimum years required. Leadership experience preferred.
• Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and actively pursuing school credits to become a CPA.
• Bonus: Pursuing a Master’s degree in Accounting, strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to follow instructions as directed, ability to work effectively in a team setting, positive attitude, and willingness to learn.
