Assurance Intern – Winter 2028 (Dallas) | BDO USA
The Tone:
This is a seasonal internship at BDO USA, located in Dallas, TX. BDO USA is a leading assurance, tax, and advisory services firm that guides clients across the U.S. and globally. This role is vital for contributing to client confidence and success by providing support to audit teams, while also offering interns hands-on experience, structured training, and opportunities to build critical professional relationships.

• Team: Works within the Assurance practice team, reporting to experienced staff.
• Mission: To assist with problem-solving and fact-finding, supporting various stages of the audit process for clients.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
What You’ll Actually Do
• Training: Participate in a structured on-the-job training program and become familiar with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Auditing Standards.
• Methodology: Apply BDO’s specific audit methodology to assist with various stages of the audit process.
• Support: Provide various support functions to the audit staff during engagement activities.
• Communication: Communicate with clients’ customers, creditors, banks, and related parties concerning audit issues.
• Documentation: Prepare and document work in working papers utilizing BDO specific tools and templates.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Accounting, required. Entry-Level.
• Experience: No prior professional experience required.
• Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Bonus: Pursuing a master’s degree in Accounting; actively pursuing school credits to become a CPA; leadership experience; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to follow instructions; ability to work effectively in a team setting; positive attitude and willingness to learn.
