2027 Summer Intern- Accounting | Diversified Energy Company

The Tone:
This is a summer internship at Diversified Energy Company, a U.S.-based independent energy company headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. Diversified operates on both the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and London Stock Exchange (LSE), acquiring, operating, and optimizing natural gas and oil assets, complemented by integrated midstream and marketing operations. This role offers real-world experience within the daily operations of a rapidly growing company, allowing the Accounting Intern to support critical financial functions. This internship provides an opportunity to contribute to the company’s disciplined approach to improving environmental and operational performance while gaining exposure to the oil and gas business.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support the accounting department by shadowing members as they perform their daily duties.
• Maintain accurate financial records by assisting with research, filing, data entry, and recording tasks.
• Prepare essential financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, invoices, and other documents.
• Utilize bookkeeping software efficiently and handle sensitive information with honesty and integrity.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Must be currently enrolled in a college/university program at the time of internship.
• Skills: Self-starter with a passion for learning and a strong work ethic; Eagerness to contribute in a team-oriented environment; Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
