About Company
Active Minds is the nation’s leading nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the culture around mental health. Founded in 2003 by Alison Malmon, following the tragic suicide of her brother Brian, the organization works to support a new generation in ending the silence and promoting mental health to be as highly valued as physical health.
Active Minds has a significant presence, impacting over 1,000 high school and college campuses, various corporate settings, and reaching a wide public audience. Through its initiatives, Active Minds focuses on creating communities of support and ultimately saving lives. Key programs include the emotionally impactful Send Silence Packing® traveling exhibit and compelling Active Minds Speakers, both of which contribute to changing culture and behaviors related to mental health across the country.
The Active Minds Internship Program is specifically designed for current college students and recent college graduates. As a small nonprofit, Active Minds greatly relies on its interns, who are integral to important initiatives and projects, in addition to assisting staff with administrative tasks. Interns gain the opportunity to engage in substantive work, build experience within the nonprofit sector, and directly contribute to the mission of changing the culture around mental health.
