The Tone:

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Pay: $23–$30 hourly
• Mission: To support various accounting, auditing, and tax engagements, ensuring quality work and adherence to time constraints.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Record Keeping: Assist in recording transactions in ledgers and preparing trial balances and simple financial statements using computer software programs.
• Account Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling accounts to control accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Financial Calculations: Assist in performing schedule computations for accruals, property and equipment, and calculating depreciation expense.
• Audit Support: Assist in performing audit or review procedures as assigned by supervisors.
• Tax Preparation: Assist in the preparation of payroll tax, sales or other local tax, and certain personal income tax returns.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Candidates should possess a High School Diploma and have completed at least two years’ work towards a bachelor’s degree, usually in accounting.
• Experience: None specified beyond academic progress.
• Skills: Strong foundational accounting knowledge, proficiency in using computer software for accounting tasks, a keen eye for detail in record-keeping and computations, and the ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
