About This Position

Waystar is looking for a dynamic, energetic intern eager to learn about the company and the healthcare revenue cycle industry. The ideal candidate will be looking to enhance their career and expand their skill set, gaining insight into a dynamic industry and joining a great company.

As part of this internship, you will expand your professional development skills and gain first-hand knowledge of a niche within the healthcare industry. Interns will assist the application engineering teams in driving Waystar’s software and technology efforts by gathering requirements, attending sprint ceremonies, and developing software and automated tests. The intern will work closely with the application engineering manager and lead engineer to help the team achieve its goals.

What You’ll Do

As an intern, you will be like any other Application Engineer on the team, designing, developing, and testing new features and enhancements on our platform. You will work with peers, Team Leads, Manager, Directors and the VP of Engineering along with the wider business to build web-scale products.

What You’ll Need

• 0 – 3 years’ experience
• Basic understanding of programming concepts
• Can code in one or more general purpose programming languages; C# and .NET programming languages are preferred
• Experience with SQL
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment & welcome change.
• Highly self-motivated
• Ability to work both in team and solo environments
