About the Company:

The New Jersey Judiciary is an 8500-member strong team operating with the highest standards of independence, integrity, fairness, and quality service. It includes the Supreme Court, Superior Court (including the Appellate Division), the Trial Court of the 15 vicinages, the Tax Court, and the Municipal Court System. The Administrative Office of the Courts provides technical assistance, operational support, training, research and development, budget and personnel coordination, and development and operation of information systems for the Courts of New Jersey.

Job Description:

The New Jersey Judiciary Appellate Division is seeking an intern to join a growing team focused on the development and expansion of its highly automated state court system.

SALARY: $20.00 per hour
Hours: Limited to a maximum of 350 hours; minimum of 35 hours per week, not to exceed 35 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

Selected candidates will have an opportunity to work in a challenging environment with a large staff of IT professionals gaining valuable experience using emerging technologies to improve the delivery of technology services to judges, law enforcement, attorneys, and the public. Internships are available for individuals offering skills in the following areas:

Application Services:

• Participate in development, testing, and documentation of on-line case management systems, mobile data systems, PEGA, web-based services using JAVA, .NET, React, Angular, Node.JS framework, Javascript, HTML, IBM Websphere, REST and SOAP Services, XML, JSON, Python, Typescript and AWS Cloud Services.

Desired Skills:

• Basic PC knowledge
• Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, Visio or other programming tools
• Understanding of general programming concepts

Example of Duties

• Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.

Qualifications:

• Thirty (30) credit hours from an accredited college pursuing a degree or certificate in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, and/or cybersecurity.
• Unofficial College or University transcript must be included in your application in order to be considered.
