About the Job: Intern (Utah Region)

The Walsh Group, Ltd. is seeking highly motivated Interns for their Utah Region. This comprehensive internship program is designed to cultivate future leaders by providing hands-on experience in various aspects of project engineering and field management within the construction industry.

Interns will have the unique opportunity to travel across the United States and work within different operational divisions, gaining invaluable real-world experience. The program is carefully tailored to align with each intern’s academic background and career aspirations, ensuring a relevant and impactful learning journey. Interns will primarily work on job sites or contribute to estimating and preconstruction efforts in the office, supporting critical project pursuits.

Responsibilities

As an intern, you will be trained across multiple career paths within the company, with the goal of transitioning into a full-time employee after college graduation. Your duties and responsibilities will include:

• Assisting project managers or field supervision staff with comprehensive project coordination.
• Estimating costs for change orders, contributing to budget management.
• Soliciting bidders and coordinating subcontractor activities to ensure smooth project flow.
• Scheduling various contracts and materials, optimizing project timelines.
• Managing document control for accuracy and accessibility.
• Coordinating subcontractors to maintain project efficiency.
• Participating in safety management initiatives to promote a secure work environment.
• Actively participating in team meetings, contributing to project discussions.
• Writing RFIs (Requests for Information), preparing submittals, and assisting in the processing of change orders.

Qualifications

• Education: Seeking a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Availability: The ability to work a 12-week work schedule is preferred.
• Relocation: Specific roles within the program may require relocation.
