Job Description: Internship
Position Purpose: Under frequent supervision, gain a broad understanding of the RLI business through real-world experience and on-the-job training.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
• Complete project-based assignments.
• Collaborate with experienced professionals, colleagues, and fellow interns to gain knowledge and develop team-building skills.
• Participate in planned educational and social activities to understand the RLI business and network.
Education & Experience:
• Requires a high school diploma and college coursework, with 0-2 years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies:
• Ability to analyze and resolve basic issues.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

Internship Pay Rates:
Pay varies depending on the supporting group and educational factors:
• General Internship: $20/hour
• IT & Underwriting: $22/hour
• Legal: $25/hour
• Actuarial: $22-$28/hour (*Dependent on completed actuarial exams*)
Application Process:

2. Initial phone call from the recruiting team (for those who pass the initial review).
3. First-round interviews (in-person or virtual).
4. Potential second-round interview (for some internships).
5. Background check (criminal, education verification, and reference check, upon offer acceptance).
Typical Intern Hours: 10-15 hours/week during the school year and 30+ hours/week during the summer.
