About the Company:
Forvis Mazars is a professional services firm offering public accounting services, primarily in audit (assurance) and tax. They aim to provide interns with valuable experience to help them determine if a career in public accounting, specifically in audit or tax, aligns with their professional goals. The firm emphasizes learning from experienced senior staff and management personnel.

Job Description:

This is an internship position designed to provide hands-on experience in public accounting.

Purpose of the Internship:
• To gain valuable experience in either audit or tax, or a combination of both.
• To help interns decide on their career path within public accounting.
• To expose interns to a variety of industries and allow them to apply their technical accounting knowledge.
• To facilitate skill development through working alongside senior staff and management.

Internship Details:
• Internships are available in assurance (audit), tax, or a combination of the two.
• Can be part-time or full-time, depending on local office needs.
Typical durations:
Winter semester: Early-January through April 15th.
Summer: Early-June through mid-August.
• Interns will work on client engagements similar to those assigned to entry-level associates.

Key Responsibilities (How You Will Contribute):
• Collaborate with client personnel to reconcile account differences and analyze financial data.
Prepare various tax returns, including individual, corporate, and partnership returns.
Calculate tax extension or estimate payments.
Participate in client meetings alongside Forvis Mazars partners and managers.

Required Qualifications & Skills (We are looking for people who have Forward Vision and):

Technical & Professional Skills:
Solid technical accounting knowledge.
Effective time management skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong computer skills preferred, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
Close attention to detail.

Work Ethic & Soft Skills:
Ability to work well with a team as well as independently.
Problem-solving attitude.
Willingness to take initiative.
Ability to work under pressure and against deadlines.

Education & Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be working toward an accounting degree.
• Must be working toward CPA licensure eligibility.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from your assigned office.
• Must be able to attend off-site meetings and events in person.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
