The Tone:
This position is a key full-time role at Martin Brûlé Studio (MBS), an AD100 firm renowned for its international perspective and deep appreciation for nature’s unpredictable beauty. Operating from New York, Paris, Miami, and Montréal, MBS provides specialized interior architecture and design services, merging historical reverence with a freedom from conventional rules. The Interior Designer will play a vital role in supporting the internal Design Team, ensuring the efficient execution of high-end projects within tight deadlines, contributing directly to the studio’s distinctive and sophisticated design output.

• Location: In-person, New York, Paris, Miami, or Montréal (Firm operates from these locations, the role will be based at one of the studio’s hubs)

• Team: Internal Design Team, working closely with Head of Design and Senior Designers.
• Mission: To efficiently execute high-end interior architecture and design projects, meeting established timelines and budgets, by providing comprehensive support to the principal and senior designers.
• Tech Stack: CAD software, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), Microsoft Office, Keynote, Asana, Excel.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Execution & Management: Work directly with the Head of Design and Senior Designers to oversee and manage projects from their inception through to completion, ensuring all phases meet quality standards and timelines.
• Technical Drawing Production: Utilize computer-aided drafting (CAD) and related software to create detailed technical drawings, including comprehensive furniture plans, elevations, Reflected Ceiling Plans (RCPs), intricate millwork drawings, and custom furniture designs.
• Material Selection & Sourcing: Assist with coordination for finish plans, specifications, and material selections, while also actively researching and sourcing interior products, relevant finishes, and materials for review by the design team.
• Client Presentation & Communication: Build comprehensive client presentations using Adobe Suite and other office software, and attend design meetings to prepare detailed meeting minutes and actionable task lists for distribution.
• Site Supervision & Client Advisory: Conduct necessary site visits to supervise progress and check-in on installations, advising clients on crucial interior design factors such as space planning, furniture layout, equipment use, and color coordination.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A minimum of two years of relevant design experience is required, with a proven track record in high-end renovations and architectural projects, encompassing all development phases for Interior Architecture and design documents.
• Experience: Demonstrated expertise in concept development, design and construction documents, and project management skills. Must possess a deep understanding of design history, design techniques, tools, and the principles involved in producing precision technical plans, blueprints, and models.
• Skills: Proficiency in computer-aided drafting (CAD) software for construction documents is essential, alongside expertise in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), Microsoft Office, and Keynote for presentation creation. Familiarity with project management tools such as Asana and Excel is also required.
• Bonus: Experience working for a top interior design firm is highly desirable. Extensive knowledge of NYC / Paris design resources, including furniture, fabrics, wall coverings, vendors, and artisans, is a significant advantage. Strong understanding of industry terminology and the ordering/production process, coupled with excellent customer service principles, is also preferred.
