Job Description: Interior Design Intern (Summer Internship)

Overview:

Join American Structurepoint’s Interior Design Group for a summer internship program in Indianapolis, IN. This internship offers a unique opportunity to grow your design skills, explore your future career, and contribute to meaningful projects that shape the spaces where people live, work, and gather.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Interior Design Intern, you will collaborate with Interior Designers and Architects on a range of projects. Your tasks will include:

• Assisting with 3D modeling, design documentation, and creating presentation materials.
• Gaining valuable real-world experience by researching finishes and materials and connecting with furniture and product vendors.
• Working closely with Project Managers and Interior Designers, gaining hands-on experience.
• Helping to create and refine architectural plans, drawings, sections, and details using Revit.
• Collaborating on creative design solutions and technical details, learning to apply industry standards in real-world situations.
• Developing eye-catching 2D and 3D presentation drawings that bring project ideas to life.
• Building skills in client service and understanding the dynamics of working in the architecture field, both internally and externally.
• Keeping projects on track by managing tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Performing other tasks as needed to support the team.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this internship, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Currently enrolled in a CIDA-accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
Junior-level standing or higher, with at least two years of architectural education preferred.
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to present ideas clearly in a team environment.
• Skilled at managing multiple tasks, curious, engaged with others, and eager to learn.
• Basic to intermediate proficiency in architectural software such as Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• A digital portfolio showcasing academic and/or professional work is required.
