What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Review: Review, analyze, code, and reconcile various financial transactions, invoices, and records to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Accounting Entries: Prepare, post, and maintain journal entries, account adjustments, and accruals to accurately reflect financial activity.
• Account Reconciliation: Reconcile general ledger accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly.
• Financial Reporting Support: Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities, and support internal and external audit requests by validating documentation.
• Process Improvement & Guidance: Recommend process enhancements for efficiency and controls, and provide guidance, training, and work direction to less experienced accounting clerks.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Senior career level with a high school diploma or equivalent, applying established accounting principles.
• Experience: 1+ years experience in accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or related financial operations.
• Skills: Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and reconciliation processes, exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.
• Bonus: An Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, insurance experience, and experience supporting audits, financial reporting, and month-end close activities.
