Paralegal | Pillinger Miller Tarallo, LLP
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Pillinger Miller Tarallo, LLP, with a hybrid schedule available in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The firm, comprised of over 100 lawyers, has grown into a national practice providing highly-experienced representation to insurance clients in all areas of civil litigation. This paralegal role is essential for delivering outstanding legal support to attorneys, contributing to the swift, cost-effective resolution of cases with the most favorable outcomes possible for clients.
The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Type: Full-time (Hybrid schedule: 3 days in office, 2 days remote, subject to change)
• Location: Hybrid, New York City Metropolitan Area (Elmsford, NY I New York, NY I Garden City, NY)
• Pay: $55000–$70000 yearly
• Mission: Provide comprehensive legal support for insurance defense litigation, assisting attorneys in achieving favorable and cost-effective resolutions for clients.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office, Prolaw/NetDocs, NYSCEF, PACER
What You’ll Actually Do
• Analyze: Review and analyze discovery documents, case materials, and correspondence to support ongoing litigation.
• Draft: Prepare various legal documents including third-party summons and complaints, discovery responses, subpoenas, and stipulations.
• Manage: Obtain and maintain medical and other records, and coordinate investigations, expert examinations, and inspections.
• File: E-file documents proficiently with NYSCEF and PACER, ensuring compliance with court procedures.
• Prepare: Assist with motions, assemble exhibits, and support attorneys in pre-trial and trial preparation tasks.
The Must-Haves
• Background: At least three years of defense litigation experience, with a strong background in insurance defense and an understanding of NY & NJ court systems. A Paralegal Certificate or degree is strongly preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years working at a defense law firm, including experience reviewing medical and accident reports, handling client contact, completing trial preparation work, and assisting in basic motion practice.
• Skills: Strong oral and written communication, exceptional organizational skills, prioritization abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Bonus: A Notary Public license and familiarity with Prolaw/NetDocs software are considered a plus.
