Are you passionate about the legal field and eager to gain hands-on experience in legal innovation and artificial intelligence? We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Innovation & AI Intern to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to support the firm’s Innovation team in researching, evaluating, and piloting emerging legal technologies, with a particular emphasis on AI-enabled tools. The objective is to enhance legal service delivery, operational efficiency, and the overall client experience. As an intern, you will gain direct, practical exposure to real-world applications of AI within a leading global law firm environment.

Location: Houston, TX; Dallas, TX, Austin, TX; or San Antonio, TX

Duration: June 2026 – July 2026

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Conduct comprehensive research on emerging legal technology and advanced AI tools, including generative AI applications.
  • Provide support for the evaluation and piloting phases of new innovation initiatives, which involves rigorously testing workflows and meticulously documenting findings.
  • Assist in the development of essential internal materials such as playbooks, detailed process documentation, comprehensive training guides, and concise executive summaries.
  • Analyze market trends, evaluate vendor offerings, and monitor competitor activity within the rapidly evolving landscape of legal innovation and AI.
  • Facilitate the gathering of feedback from attorneys and various business professionals, synthesizing these insights into clear and actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate actively with other members of the Innovation team on special projects and client-facing initiatives, contributing to the successful execution of strategic objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or having recently completed an undergraduate or graduate degree in a relevant field such as law, business, computer science, data science, information systems, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated genuine interest in legal innovation, artificial intelligence, and the application of technology-enabled service delivery within a legal context.
  • Possession of excellent research, writing, and analytical skills, enabling thorough investigation and clear communication of findings.
  • Comfortable with and eager to learn new tools and technologies; prior exposure to AI or legal technology is considered a valuable advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exhibits a professional, collaborative, and curious mindset, essential for contributing effectively to a dynamic team.
  • Demonstrates good judgment and accountability, consistently striving to deliver excellent service.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; prior exposure to coding languages and additional specialized tools is a plus.
