Are you passionate about the legal field and eager to gain hands-on experience in legal innovation and AI? We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Innovation & AI Intern to join our team. The Innovation & AI Intern will support the firm’s Innovation team in researching, evaluating, and piloting emerging legal technologies, particularly AI-enabled tools—to enhance legal service delivery, operational efficiency, and client experience. This role offers hands-on exposure to real-world applications of AI in a global law firm environment.
Location: Houston, TX; Dallas, TX; Austin, TX; or San Antonio, TX
Duration: June 2026 – July 2026
Key Responsibilities:
As an Innovation & AI Intern, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting in-depth research on emerging legal technology and AI tools, with a particular focus on generative AI applications.
- Assisting with the evaluation and pilot support for new innovation initiatives, which involves testing workflows, documenting findings, and contributing to proof-of-concept projects.
- Supporting the development of internal materials crucial for knowledge sharing and training, such as playbooks, process documentation, training guides, and executive summaries for various stakeholders.
- Analyzing market trends, vendor offerings, and competitor activity within the legal innovation and AI landscape to identify opportunities and inform strategy.
- Helping to gather valuable feedback from attorneys and business professionals across the firm, and synthesizing these insights into actionable recommendations for improving technology adoption and impact.
- Collaborating effectively with Innovation team members on special projects and client-facing initiatives, contributing to the firm’s strategic goals.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate or graduate degree in a relevant field such as law, business, computer science, data science, information systems, or a closely related discipline.
- Interest: Demonstrated strong interest in legal innovation, artificial intelligence, and technology-enabled service delivery within a professional context.
- Skills: Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills are essential for conducting thorough investigations and communicating findings clearly.
- Adaptability: Comfortable learning and adapting to new tools and technologies rapidly; prior exposure to AI technologies or legal tech platforms is considered a significant advantage.
- Work Ethic: Strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Mindset: Professional, collaborative, and curious mindset, eager to explore new ideas and contribute to a team-oriented culture.
- Judgment: Good judgment and accountability for delivering excellent service and high-quality work.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); prior exposure to coding languages and additional specialized tools is a plus.
