Innovation & AI Intern (Summer 2026)

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Innovation & AI Intern to join our team. This role offers hands-on exposure to real-world applications of AI within a global law firm environment.
The Innovation & AI Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the firm’s Innovation team. This involves researching, evaluating, and piloting emerging legal technologies, with a particular focus on AI-enabled tools. The ultimate goal is to enhance legal service delivery, improve operational efficiency, and elevate the client experience.
Location: Houston, TX; Dallas, TX; Austin, TX; or San Antonio, TX
Duration: June 2026 – July 2026
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting Research: Perform in-depth research on emerging legal technology and AI tools, including advanced generative AI applications.
- Evaluation & Pilot Support: Assist with the evaluation and pilot phases of new innovation initiatives. This includes rigorously testing workflows and meticulously documenting findings to inform future decisions.
- Material Development: Support the creation of internal materials such as strategic playbooks, detailed process documentation, comprehensive training guides, and concise executive summaries for various stakeholders.
- Market Analysis: Analyze current market trends, assess vendor offerings, and monitor competitor activity within the rapidly evolving fields of legal innovation and AI.
- Feedback Synthesis: Aid in gathering critical feedback from both attorneys and business professionals, then synthesize these insights into clear, actionable recommendations for improvement and implementation.
- Collaborative Projects: Collaborate closely with other Innovation team members on various special projects and client-facing initiatives, contributing to the firm’s strategic goals.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Educational Background: Currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate or graduate degree in law, business, computer science, data science, information systems, or a related field.
- Demonstrated Interest: A strong, demonstrable interest in legal innovation, artificial intelligence, and technology-enabled service delivery within the legal sector.
- Core Skills: Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills are essential for this role.
- Technical Aptitude: Comfortable with learning new tools and technologies rapidly; prior exposure to AI technologies or legal technology solutions is a definite plus.
- Work Ethic: Strong attention to detail and the proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Mindset: A professional, collaborative, and curious mindset, eager to explore new solutions and work effectively within a team.
- Professionalism: Exhibits good judgment and accountability, consistently striving to deliver excellent service.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; prior exposure to coding languages and additional specialized tools is a plus.
