The Internship Opportunity:
As an IT Intern, you will be immersed in a practical environment, directly contributing to the smooth operation of our technological infrastructure. Your primary responsibility will involve providing comprehensive technology support to AE2S staff and clients. This includes:
Prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end-user requests channeled through our IT Ticketing System.
Escalating incidents to senior IT staff when necessary.
• Utilizing diagnostic and help request tracking tools to efficiently address issues.
• Providing in-person, hands-on assistance at the desktop level for complex problems.

Beyond general IT support, this internship offers exposure to vital information security duties, allowing you to contribute to our robust security posture. These tasks encompass:
• Assisting with the deployment and monitoring of various security controls.
• Engaging in SOC (Security Operations Center) monitoring.
• Reviewing and escalating security-related tickets.
• Participating in phishing monitoring and remediation efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

End-User Support & Troubleshooting: Provide timely and courteous support by troubleshooting hardware and software issues, performing desktop-level fixes, installing and upgrading systems, and ensuring effective resolution through documented troubleshooting processes.
Incident & Alert Management: Monitor and manage IT alerts and incidents, identifying emerging trends, reviewing help desk tickets, and collaborating with security teams to detect, document, and escalate potential security issues.
System Deployment & Maintenance: Assist with software releases, system rollouts, backups, and configuration changes, while clearly communicating updates and their impacts to end-users.
Documentation & Knowledge Management: Maintain accurate documentation by recording end-user information, tracking incidents from initiation through resolution, updating knowledge bases, and developing help sheets, FAQs, and essential security documentation such as policies and incident response procedures.
Cybersecurity Support: Support security initiatives by monitoring network traffic and system logs, contributing to security awareness programs and training materials, researching emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies, and assisting in evaluating their impact on the organization.

Ideal Qualifications:

Pursing a degree or certifications related to Information Technology.
Experience in providing technical support for desktop, network, and software technologies.
Strong communication and time management skills are required.
Knowledge of basic computer hardware, including laptops, desktops, and printers.
Experience with desktop and server operating systems, including Mac, PC, and Linux.
Application support experience with Microsoft Office.

Physical Qualifications:

• Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain.
• Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
• Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight.
• May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
• May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear.
• May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload.
