Job Summary:
As an Information Technology Intern at AE2S, you will gain invaluable real-world experience, working closely with seasoned IT professionals dedicated to applying your education and knowledge. This role is central to providing comprehensive technology support to AE2S staff and clients. You will be responsible for prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end-user requests received via the IT Ticketing System, escalating incidents as needed. Resolution methods will include leveraging diagnostic and help request tracking tools, and providing in-person, hands-on desktop-level assistance. A significant component of this internship involves Information Security duties, including assisting with the deployment and monitoring of various security controls, performing SOC (Security Operations Center) monitoring, reviewing and escalating security-related tickets, and participating in phishing monitoring and remediation efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

End-User Support: Provide timely, courteous, and effective technical support to end-users. This includes troubleshooting hardware and software issues, performing desktop-level fixes, installing and upgrading systems, and ensuring problem resolution is achieved through documented troubleshooting processes.
Incident and Alert Management: Actively monitor and manage IT alerts and incidents. Responsibilities include identifying emerging IT trends, reviewing help desk tickets, and collaborating closely with security teams to detect, document, and promptly escalate any potential security issues.
System Operations Support: Assist with critical IT operations such as software releases, system rollouts, data backups, and configuration changes. Ensure clear and proactive communication of updates and potential impacts to end-users.
Documentation and Knowledge Management: Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation. This involves recording end-user information, tracking incidents from initiation to resolution, regularly updating knowledge bases, and developing essential resources like help sheets, FAQs, and security documentation (e.g., policies, incident response procedures).
Information Security Initiatives: Actively support various security initiatives. This includes monitoring network traffic and system logs, contributing to the development of security awareness programs and training materials, researching emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies, and assisting in evaluating their potential impact on the organization.

Ideal Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a degree or certifications related to Information Technology.
• Demonstrated experience in providing technical support for desktop, network, and software technologies.
• Possesses strong communication and time management skills.
• Solid knowledge of basic computer hardware, including laptops, desktops, and printers.
• Experience with desktop and server operating systems, such as Mac, PC (Windows), and Linux.
• Application support experience, particularly with Microsoft Office suite.

Physical Qualifications:
The role may require:

• Ability to walk up to 3 miles on uneven terrain.
• Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods.
• Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight.
• May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
• May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear.
• May require occasional evenings and weekends, with overtime expectations varying with workload.
