Internship Program Overview:
• Offers a chance to evaluate Biogen and for Biogen to evaluate interns.
• Successful interns may be offered a full-time role in Biogen IT’s Rotation Program.
Project Areas:
• Pharmaceutical Operations & Technology IT Analytics: Develop and deploy data and analytics platforms for GXP Manufacturing (GXP) and non-GXP activities. This includes:
• Supply Chain analytics
• Business Intelligence
• Support for PO&T’s digital transformation program
• Intelligent Business Process Automation: Help build a foundation for better automation lifecycle management by:
• Optimizing automation workflow integration
• Ensuring end-to-end visibility through a sound DevOps infrastructure
• Information Security Computer Incident Response: Investigate and analyze threats, phishing, and malware alerts by:
• Using a variety of security tools within Security Operations
• Implementing the 6 Phases of Incident Response
• Completing and updating Incident Response documentation
• Presenting findings to Security Operations
• Advanced Analytics: Explore and create projects for 2025 and 2026 using advanced analytics techniques like:
• Natural Language Processing
• Generative AI
• Machine Learning
• Other Potential Project Opportunities:
• R&D IT: Research, Development Sciences, Regulatory and/or Safety
• Commercial IT: Marketing, Field Enablement, Analytics
• Medical IT: Medical IT projects, project management / business analysis
• Infrastructure: Cloud computing, API development, Containerization
• Application Solutions: App Development, Data Engineering
• Corporate IT: Service Management capabilities
Qualifications:
• Interest & experience in any of the following areas:
• Programming
• Systems Integration
• Cloud Technology
• Data Analysis
• Business Analysis
• Systems Management
• Cybersecurity
• Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Personal Attributes:
• Self-motivated and results-oriented
• Quick learner with ability and willingness to learn new concepts, frameworks, algorithms, and technology
• Passion and aptitude for technology with a desire to innovate
• Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment
• Interpersonal competence and strong communication skills
Eligibility Criteria:
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
• At least 18 years of age prior to the internship start date
• Currently enrolled in an accredited community college, college or university
• Undergraduate graduating class of 2026 (rising senior)
Education:
• Pursuing a degree in an Information Technology field or related discipline (Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or Computer Science) is preferred.
