GreenState Credit Union offers an exciting 12-week paid internship opportunity within its Information Technology department. Internship Overview
As an intern, you will be a valuable team member, owning the outcome for a variety of projects. The program emphasizes an educational, meaningful, and exciting experience, helping you gain a deeper understanding of departmental roles and preparing you for work in the financial industry. You will also have opportunities to interact with GreenState members, various departments, and staff.
Program Details:
- Duration: 12 weeks (May 19th through August 7th)
- Compensation: $15/hour
- Location: On-site in North Liberty, IA
- Work Hours: Negotiated with each candidate; may include a non-traditional workweek with extra hours (evenings/weekends) as business demands.
- Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Data & Analytics Director.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The IT Intern will contribute to the department and organization by:
- Adhering to GreenState’s core values: truth, trust, mentoring, openness, risk-taking, communication, giving credit, integrity, caring, and respect.
- Demonstrating a positive member service focus (internal and external) at all times, including greeting with a smile, eye contact, using names, and thanking for business.
- Exhibiting teamwork in all interactions and duty completions.
- Ensuring strict confidentiality of member information.
- Assisting with planning, coordination, and execution of department events as directed.
- Providing administrative and clerical support for departmental and organizational projects/tasks.
- Interacting with internal and external GreenState parties (employees, leaders, members, vendors) to achieve objectives.
- Participating in community service organizations and/or Credit Union sponsored events annually.
- Performing other duties as required to meet Credit Union objectives.
Note: This job description is not exhaustive; interns may be assigned additional duties. Performance will be evaluated based on project completion and interaction with employees/clients.
Job Requirements/Expectations
Candidates for this internship should meet the following criteria:
- Must report to work punctually, work all scheduled hours, and overtime as necessitated.
- Must be a current undergraduate student in good academic standing.
- Must be entering their junior or senior year prior to the commencement of the internship.
- Demonstrates enthusiasm for knowledge acquisition and learning.
- Possesses good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Good telephone manners and techniques.
- Ability to use and understand written material.
- Ability to work with minimal direction and exercise sound judgment.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency with relevant computer applications, spreadsheets, word processing, and database applications.
- Must be bondable.
