Job Description: Industrial/Systems Engineering Intern
Bechtel’s internship program offers hands-on experience and a potential path to full-time employment. This internship program provides opportunities for aspiring engineers to gain practical experience in a real-world setting.
Internship Responsibilities:
• Support the project’s systems engineering team throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop functional/system analysis to define facility/system design requirements.
• Establish methods for verifying requirement implementation.
• Prepare system and facility design criteria documents.
• Support system-level design verification, requirements verification, and testing.
• Participate in technical discussions to resolve system design issues.
• Research and document system operations and limits.
• Utilize model-based systems engineering tools (e.g., IBM® Rationale DOORS or Innoslate).
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in a four-year Bachelor of Science degree program in Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Nuclear Engineering at an accredited college or university.
• Completed at least one year of undergraduate studies in one of the above fields.
• Eligible to work and remain in the US without visa sponsorship.
• Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project jobsites.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in a Master of Science degree program in Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Nuclear Engineering.
• Completed relevant coursework with a strong GPA.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Location: Locations will vary based on project needs and may include Houston, TX, Reston, VA, or various project sites.
hourly Range: $21.85 – $31.36 (Determined by function, education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant. A 15% salary uplift is provided on top of base salary for positions that are worked in New York City or San Francisco, which is subject to change depending on market conditions.)
