Customs Trade Agent | FedEx Logistics

The Tone:
This is a full-time hybrid role at FedEx Logistics, located in Atlanta, Georgia, requiring residence within 50 miles of the city. FedEx Logistics provides comprehensive international freight forwarding, customs brokerage, and trade advisory services to help companies navigate global shipping intricacies. This position is essential for ensuring the compliant and efficient entry of goods into the US by coordinating critical documentation with US Customs and other government agencies on behalf of importers. The role directly contributes to customer satisfaction and adherence to international importing regulations.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Type: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm (Mandatory overtime and company-recognized holidays may be required)
• Location: Hybrid, Atlanta, Georgia
• Pay: $20.95 hourly
• Mission: Coordinate documentation for US Customs/Government Agencies to facilitate the entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers.
• Tech Stack: MS Office, email applications such as Outlook

What You’ll Actually Do
• Coordinate Documentation: Coordinate documentation required by US Customs/Government Agencies for the entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers.
• Obtain Classification: Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release utilizing databases, SOPs, tariff books, the internet, or direct customs resources.
• Process Documentation: Perform data entry and process various import-related documentation for submission to US Customs, including limited Participating Government Agencies (PGAs).
• Maintain Compliance: Maintain and keep current all shipment documentation in compliance with all record-keeping requirements and international importing regulations.
• Provide Service: Provide impeccable customer service and collaborate closely with other internal staff and departments to deliver a high level of service to customers.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High School Diploma or GED required. No industry or work experience is necessary for this entry-level role.
• Experience: Required data entry and keyboard experience, along with working knowledge of MS Office and email applications like Outlook, including the ability to use multiple screens and windows.
• Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, strong organizational capabilities, and effective inter-personal skills are essential.
• Bonus: Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Atlanta, Georgia. The position offers paid training and a hybrid work option, with initial training and onsite work for 3-6 months (or until productivity and accuracy standards are met) before work-from-home options become available.
