Internship – Human Resources | Magna International

The Tone:
This is an internship at Magna International, a global automotive supplier specializing in industry-leading automotive technologies. Operating within the Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group, Magna focuses on developing unique vehicle access experiences, intelligent vision systems, and advanced automotive lighting technologies. In this role, you will contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Human Resources department, supporting key functions that enable the company to invest in its employees and drive innovation.

• Team: Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting (MML)
• Mission: Provide essential support to Human Resources functional areas by assisting with daily administrative tasks, data processing, and employee communications.
• Tech Stack: PeopleSoft (HRIS system), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

What You’ll Actually Do
• HR Support: Provide comprehensive administrative and operational support across various Human Resources functional areas.
• Payroll & Data Management: Assist with daily and weekly payroll administration, including sorting checks, and process data for wellness initiatives, gym reimbursements, and personnel changes in the HRIS.
• Communication Development: Create and update internal employee communication materials, such as PowerPoint slides for meetings and MagnaNow communications.
• Hiring & Onboarding: Support the hiring process by assisting with new hire applications, preparing hire packets, and contributing to recruitment tasks.
• Record Keeping & Events: Maintain organized personnel and medical records through accurate filing, and assist with the coordination of employee events.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student. Possess a High School Diploma and currently be attending a College or University.
• Experience: Some related experience is preferred.
• Skills: Proficient computer knowledge and skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and professional communication skills (written and verbal).
