HR Intern | Hunt International Energy Svc
The Tone:
This is an internship at Hunt International Energy Svc. The company provides energy services, specializing in the energy sector. This role is vital for supporting the Human Resources team, ensuring efficient HR operations, effective recruiting processes, and engaging employee programs. The intern will gain hands-on experience across various HR functions, directly contributing to the company’s organizational effectiveness and employee welfare.

• Team: Reports to HR Manager, supporting the HR team.
• Mission: To assist the Human Resources department with critical administrative, operational, recruiting, and event support tasks to ensure smooth daily functions.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Suite, HRIS platforms, Applicant tracking software.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Recruiting Support: Assist with the coordination and scheduling of candidate interviews, manage pre-employment requirements, maintain applicant tracking software, and prepare candidate communications and offer letters under HR Manager direction. Additionally, support the AAP/EEO compliance tracking and documentation process.
• Compensation & HR Data Management: Contribute to compensation data gathering, market survey participation, and the annual merit increase process through data compilation. Maintain and update organizational charts, the company phone directory, and assist with government reporting data collection and preparation.
• HR Operations & Administration: Provide support for HRIS data entry, audits, and system coordination. Assist with updating HR policies, procedures, and labor law postings. Support the administration of employee recognition programs, internal communications like the company newsletter, and other assigned HR projects.
• Event Coordination: Support the planning and execution of significant company events such as Employee Appreciation Day, Thanksgiving Lunch, and the Christmas Party. This also includes assisting with recruiting events and community relations initiatives like the United Way campaign and Adopt-a-School support.
• Community Engagement: Facilitate company participation in community events including the United Way golf tournament, family celebrations, Tinsel Trail, and the Worlds of Work (WOW) Career Expo, fostering positive external relations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Enrollment in a Human Resources, Business Administration, or related degree program.
• Experience: Supports HR functions and operations requiring a professional demeanor and an ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Suite; strong organizational skills; ability to handle confidential information with discretion; sound judgment.
• Bonus: Experience with HRIS platforms; valid driver’s license; interest in pursuing PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification.
