About The HSE Intern Role:
As a Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSE) Intern, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing Valeo’s operational safety and environmental compliance. You will gain hands-on experience by:
- Assisting in verifying compliance of safety and security equipment with rigorous internal and external requirements.
- Contributing to the establishment and oversight of critical site-specific HSE operational procedures and ensuring their consistent application.
Important Note: We are seeking dedicated candidates for a full-time internship during Summer 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
During your internship, you will be actively involved in the following critical HSE functions:
- Ensure Compliance: Assist in identifying, establishing, and implementing all Valeo Group HSE requirements and standards across the site.
- Risk Management: Carry out comprehensive risk analyses and actively monitor regulatory surveys to proactively address potential hazards and ensure adherence to legal frameworks.
- Auditing & Recommendations: Conduct internal inspections and audits, formulate clear recommendations, and specify corresponding actions along with the responsibility for their implementation.
- Non-Compliance Management: Assist in implementing and monitoring actions relating to the handling of any non-compliance revealed by internal and external audits, taking necessary investments into account.
- Documentation & Assessment: Update and complete vital Safety Data Sheets (SDS), plus conduct detailed ergonomic and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) assessments.
- Instruction Development: Review and update essential Safety and Environmental work instructions to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence by all personnel.
What You Should Bring:
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as a student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in an environmental or occupational safety-related field (e.g., Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related discipline).
- OR a recent graduate (graduating April/May 2025) from one of the aforementioned Bachelor’s programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated academic experience with coursework in critical safety areas such as equipment lockout/tagout, chemical safety, and familiarity with OSHA/EPA regulations.
