Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated HR intern to work under guidance with our HR department to deliver professional services in compliance with HR policies, systems, and practices. These include administrative and project tasks, onboarding, compliance audits and updating internal employee data and programs.

To be successful you will need to be aware of the latest developments in HR practices, able to work under guidance and demonstrate excellent judgement, communication and organizational skills.

You will be pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Organizational Management, HRIS, or a related field and be eager to learn and contribute to our HR team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR and Benefits functions in relation to onboarding, HR policies and practices, records audits, and other Human Resources related matters.
  • Maintain, compile and update employee records in databases and hard copies. This includes filing, archiving and scanning to track changes through the employee life cycle.
  • Process documentation, research and prepare reports relating to human capital management and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate project tasks, take notes of meetings and follow through on action items.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding.
  • Under guidance monitors the HR Inbox and may act as the first point of contact for general enquiries.
  • May assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data (absences, bonus, leaves, etc.)
  • Communicate with public and private entities when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree related to Human Capital Management, Organizational Design or Human Resources Information Systems, or related field(s).
  • Knowledge of human resources processes and best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Organization – Organized with strong attention to detail, and consistent follow-through.
  • Analytical Problem Solving – Demonstrates sound judgement in identifying and resolving problems.
  • Client focus: Is helpful and professional and pursues problems to resolution.
  • Communication Skills— Listens well, clarifies information and conveys information successfully.
  • Fluent in using the MS Office environment or equivalent.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
  • Can work regular business hours (7:30am to 5:30pm Monday through Thursday and 8:00am to 12:00pm on Fridays), in office.
