Position Summary

As a Housekeeping & Laundry associate, you will be responsible for maintaining the pristine condition of guest rooms and public areas, ensuring an exceptional experience for all guests. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to high standards, and a commitment to guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly and courteously to requests from guests and other departments.
  • Prepare and transport housekeeping carts filled with necessary supplies to assigned areas.
  • Adhere to established procedures for gaining access to guest rooms, ensuring vacancy before entry.
  • Replenish guest amenities and supplies in rooms.
  • Replace dirty linens and terry with clean, fresh items.
  • Make beds to company standards and neatly fold terry.
  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize bathrooms.
  • Remove trash, dirty linen, and room service items from rooms.
  • Verify the presence and working order of all appliances within the room.
  • Straighten desk items, furniture, and appliances for an organized appearance.
  • Dust, polish, and remove marks from walls and furnishings.
  • Vacuum carpets and perform other floor care duties in guest rooms and hallways.

Safety & Professionalism

  • Adhere to all company safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries promptly.
  • Complete all required safety training and certifications.
  • Properly store flammable materials according to safety guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
  • Safeguard the confidentiality of proprietary information.

Guest Service & Teamwork

  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to The Ritz-Carlton’s “Gold Standards”.
  • Anticipate and proactively address guests’ service needs.
  • Provide assistance to individuals with disabilities as required.
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation for their patronage.
  • Communicate with guests and colleagues using clear and professional language.
  • Actively support the team to achieve common goals and uphold quality expectations and standards.

Physical Requirements

The role requires physical stamina and the ability to perform the following tasks:

  • Move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance, and in excess of 25 pounds with assistance.
  • Push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart and other work-related equipment over sloping and uneven surfaces.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Stand, sit, kneel, or walk for extended periods across an entire work shift.
  • Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

  • Education: No high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
  • Related Work Experience: No related work experience required.
  • Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience required.
  • License or Certification: None required.
