What We Look For In a HESI Tutor

• Advanced Test Mastery:
  • Deep knowledge of HESI Admission Assessment examination content covering mathematics, reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, biology, anatomy and physiology, chemistry, and physics.
  • Ability to explain nursing program admission score requirements, content area weighting, and the connection between HESI scores and nursing school success while preparing candidates for competitive nursing program admissions.
• Strategic Test-Taking & Problem-Solving:
  • Skilled at teaching anatomy and physiology review, mathematical problem-solving, and reading comprehension strategies for HESI.
  • Guides students through human body systems review, dosage calculation practice, scientific vocabulary building, grammar rule application, and reading passage analysis.
  • Emphasizes targeting the content areas most heavily weighted by specific nursing programs and building foundational science knowledge.
• Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction:
  • Familiar with HESI A2 examination content and common challenges such as anatomy and physiology breadth, chemistry fundamentals for non-science majors, and mathematical conversion problems.
  • Adapts instruction using HESI practice examinations, science content review guides, and diagnostic assessments to support nursing school applicants seeking competitive admission scores.
• Effective Teaching Methods:
  • Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
  • Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
