Job Description

This is a project-oriented, temporary position with a broad and varied scope of work. It is non-benefit eligible.

Role Overview:
The primary purpose of this role is to support and assist Patient Accounting staff in the resolution of patient accounts. This involves following up on collections of accounts by working with various parties.

Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting and assisting Patient Accounting staff in resolving patient accounts.
• Working with insurance companies to follow-up on collections of accounts.
• Working with government entities to follow-up on collections of accounts.
• Working with patients to follow-up on collections of accounts.

Schedule and Availability:
Flexible work schedule, Monday through Friday.
• Office hours are from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Must be attending a local school and be available to work in Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters.

Qualifications:
Education:
• High school diploma required.
• Actively working towards a college degree in Business Management, Healthcare, or a related field required.
Computer Skills:
• Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
• Above average proficiency with Windows style applications and keyboard.
• Must be proficient with Excel.
• Requires the use of office equipment such as computer terminals, telephones, copiers, fax machine, 10 key adding machine.
Communication Skills:
Excellent written communication skills required.
Excellent oral communication skills required.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
Excellent analytical problem-solving skills required.
Mathematical Knowledge:
• Basic mathematical knowledge including understanding of debits and credits for correct account transactions.
Industry Knowledge:
• Some knowledge of insurance preferred, but not required.
Work History:
• Good previous work history required.
Other:
• Must be attending a local school.
