The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Bending Spoons, located remotely in the US. The CFO will be critical in shaping the financial strategy, ensuring robust financial operations, and driving the economic performance as the company expands its presence. • Mission: To co-lead financial strategy, manage financial planning and performance, and strengthen business economics to support the company’s long-term growth and value creation.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategic Partnership: Co-lead the company’s financial strategy, partnering with leadership on long-term planning, capital allocation, investment decisions, and other significant strategic choices.
• Financial Oversight: Own budgeting, forecasting, and overall business performance management processes.
• Compliance and Reporting: Oversee high-quality financial reporting, ensure robust internal controls, US GAAP compliance, audit readiness, and appropriate governance across the organization.
• Capital Management: Manage treasury, cash, financing strategy, banking relationships, and the company’s approach to debt and equity capital.
• Economic Improvement: Collaborate closely with operating teams to enhance profitability, optimize resource allocation, reinforce cost discipline, and improve returns on investment.
• Organization Building: Develop the finance team, systems, and processes necessary to support a large, fast-growing, and increasingly complex business in the United States and beyond.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Executive-level experience with a strong technical foundation in accounting, finance, and tax.
• Experience: Demonstrated comfort building financial models, preparing financial statements, and developing forecasts and budgets in complex environments.
• Skills: High reasoning ability for solving complex problems from first principles, structuring ideas sharply, resisting biases, and managing critical details. Possesses strong drive characterized by ambition, initiative, effort, tenacity, a deep sense of responsibility, and continuously rising standards.
