Growth Marketing & Community Intern | Wakao

The Tone:
This is an unpaid, remote internship at Wakao. The company is in soft launch, building an activity-first social platform designed to connect people through shared real-world experiences rather than isolating algorithms. This role offers the opportunity to do meaningful work, helping to grow Wakao across North America and contribute to a platform that fosters genuine community.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Part-time (approximately 20 hours/week)

• Mission: This person will drive organic marketing efforts, build strategic partnerships, execute growth experiments, and implement efficiency-boosting automations to expand Wakao’s community engagement.
• Tech Stack: Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics or equivalent, scheduling platforms, Monday.com, UTM, attribution.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Content Management: Own organic content across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, and Threads.
• Partner Development: Build and manage a B2B partner pipeline including campuses, clubs, community organizations, and event hosts.
• Growth Experimentation: Run real growth experiments by forming hypotheses, shipping, measuring, and deciding outcomes.
• Automation Setup: Set up AI-powered automations to improve team efficiency and save hours weekly.
• Performance Tracking: Track all activities in Monday.com and report on what had an impact and what didn’t.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career. Hands-on experience in growth marketing, product management, social media, or community building.
• Experience: Defined and run A/B experiments, tracked KPIs (CTR, installs, activation), interpreted funnel data, and understood UTM and attribution basics. Structured email, DM, or cold calling experience with documented lead sourcing and pipeline tracking.
• Skills: Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics or equivalent, and scheduling platforms.
• Bonus: Comfort with AI-powered tools (Cursor, Claude, Clawbot). Basic Python for reports, data cleaning, or lightweight tracking tools.
