• Pay: $31.85–$33.29 hourly
• Mission: To support the safe and effective construction, operation, and maintenance of the Electrical Distribution System.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Supply: Provide tools, materials, and supplies efficiently to journeyman linemen on the worksite.
• Safety: Ensure that all safety rules and regulations are strictly observed across all worksite activities.
• Logistics: Drive company trucks, ensuring they are properly stocked with necessary items and well-maintained.
• Preparation: Prepare the equipment and worksite thoroughly to enable the effective completion of assigned tasks.
• Operation: Operate various types of construction equipment, including diggers and aerial devices, as required for assignments.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires a GED or HS diploma, and candidates must be 18 years of age or older at the time of application. Successful candidates must achieve “recommended” test results from the Modern Hire Electric Ground Worker Virtual Job Tryout and pass a pre-employment fitness physical assessment, which includes a weight restriction of 290 pounds.
• Experience: A valid Driver’s License and a strong driving record are essential. Candidates must obtain a Class A CDL learner’s permit within one month of employment and a Class A CDL within six months. The role demands the ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly, carry up to 60 pounds, and work on ladders and hydraulic lifts. It also requires working outdoors in all weather conditions, responding quickly to on-call assignments for electrical restorations, and being available for up to 300 hours of emergency overtime per year.
• Skills: The ability to learn how to operate construction equipment and use hand tools effectively is required. Candidates should possess computer application aptitude and a willingness to develop strong communication, technical, and mechanical abilities within a physically demanding work environment.
• Bonus: Preferred qualifications include holding a Class A or Class B CDL or a Class A CDL permit, OSHA 10 or 30 certification, and certifications in CPR, First Aid, or AED. Prior experience with mechanical or electrical concepts, a background in the military, construction, or related outdoor work environments is also a plus.
