Internship, IT Analyst, Global Risk & Compliance (Fall 2026) | Tesla
The Tone:
This is an internship at Tesla, located in Austin, TX. Tesla is a global leader in designing and manufacturing electric vehicles, battery energy storage from home to grid-scale, solar panels, and related products and services, striving to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. This role is crucial for operating in a hands-on capacity within the IT risk and compliance team, assisting with the day-to-day management of Key Report validation by collaborating directly with IT, Business, and Security Teams. The intern will contribute significantly to maintaining the company’s compliance posture, ensuring governance standards are met, and acting as a liaison across the global organization within the CISO’s team.

• Team: Global Risk and Compliance (GRC) team, part of the CISO’s organization.
• Mission: Manage day-to-day operations for Key Report validation, assist with continuous control testing and internal Access Management application, and act as a liaison between IT, product security, privacy/legal, audit, and business stakeholders.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Partner: Partner and coordinate with IT teams, application owners, management, and testing groups to perform key report validation strategies.
• Improve: Continuously identify areas of improvement, create action plans, and execute to implement changes for existing programs and practices, aligning with the organization’s risk appetite and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor: Ensure all key controls and key reports are monitored, tested, and are in compliance per Compliance and Governance standards.
• Document & Automate: Ensure comprehensive documentation of end-to-end testing and test strategies for IT teams, and work towards automating testing efforts.
• Liaise: Act as a liaison between IT teams, product security, privacy/legal, audit team, and business stakeholders across Tesla to gather key details for testing and documentation.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a relevant degree in Information Systems, Security Management, or similar fields of study with a graduation date between December 2026 – December 2027. Able to relocate and work on site at Tesla’s Corporate HQ in Austin, TX.
• Experience: 1 year of Business Process Risk and Compliance experience. Experience understanding and testing end-to-end Business flows. Experience leading and mitigating risk in projects throughout an organization.
• Skills: In-depth knowledge around Global Risk and Compliance efforts. Relevant knowledge and experience in design and operation of third-party risk management process and frameworks.
