As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will work alongside highly experienced teams, applying engineering skills and technologies to build in security-critical environments. This role is essential for supporting the commercial and cost management aspects of diverse civil engineering projects, contributing to the development and improvement of societies, economies, and ensuring a sustainable future.

• Mission: To contribute to the successful financial delivery of critical aviation and military infrastructure projects by effectively managing costs, supporting commercial reporting, and assisting in subcontractor procurement within security-critical environments, ultimately helping to develop and improve societies and the economy and ensuring a sustainable future.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Cost Monitoring: Monitor the staff, labour, and plant hire rates utilised on active contracts to ensure accurate financial tracking and control.
• Reporting & Allocation: Compile comprehensive weekly and monthly financial reports, and manage cost allocation efficiently across various project elements.
• Subcontract Management: Assist with the precise placing of subcontract task orders, ensuring full compliance with the main contract terms and conditions.
• Meeting Participation: Actively attend operational and Subcontractor meetings, contributing insights and information relevant to project commercial aspects.
• Expenditure Support: Provide support for the continuous monitoring of internal project expenditure, verifying adherence to allocated budgets and financial plans.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career professional with or working towards a Bachelor Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline. RICS-accredited degrees are preferred.
• Experience: No specific years required; relevant work experience or a placement in the construction industry is advantageous but not essential.
• Skills: Effective communication skills developed through well-rounded life experience, an analytical mindset with the ability to build relationships across all levels, strong personal organisation skills, and the capacity to collaborate effectively within a team.
• Bonus: Willingness to work towards professional membership with RICS, CICES or equivalent, and the right to work in the UK with openness to working overseas.
