Job Description: Global Operations Summer Internship (2026)

About this Role:

Wells Fargo is seeking talent for a 2026 summer internship within its Global Operations team under the Chief Operating Office (COO) organization. This program aims to provide participants with exposure to Wells Fargo’s operations, business strategies, and corporate culture, specifically focusing on the critical functions within Global Operations.

Business Overview – Global Operations Early Talent Program:

The Global Operations Early Talent program offers diverse pathways to gain meaningful work experience and grow expertise. It focuses on building a unified and integrated approach to Wells Fargo’s business operations functions, providing interns with exposure across multiple functions and teams. Work areas include business operations, strategy, execution, and transformation initiatives.

Key Areas within Global Operations:

Wholesale Operations: Delivers critical support for maintaining relationships with corporate clients globally. Manages financial transactions for businesses, institutions, and wealth management clients, ensuring efficient processing of securities, cash, and loans. Also manages risk, regulatory compliance, and client service. Includes Commercial Banking Operations, Wealth & Investment Management Operations, and Corporate & Investment Banking Operations.
Shared Services Operations (SSO): Delivers core operational functions common across Wells Fargo and transformation capabilities to employees using a continuous improvement approach. Aims for stronger controls, improved client experiences, and sustained efficiencies. Includes BSA/AML Data Strategy, Execution & Operations, Business & Real Estate Services, Financial Crimes Operations, Operational Excellence, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Operations, and Strategy & Transformation.
Consumer Lending Operations: Delivers foundational operational, account servicing, and contact center services for customers using personal loans, auto loans, home mortgages, credit cards, or merchant services products.
Consumer, Small & Business Banking Operations: Supports CSBB customers with operational processes including customer servicing, ATM management, cash vaults, print solutions, estate care, and various retail banking processes like abandoned property, legal orders, account reconciliation, and account maintenance.
Payments Operations: Encompasses services like Wires Operations, Automated Clearing House (ACH), Instant Payments, Lockbox Services, Network Management, International Payments, and Payment Services Operations, ensuring seamless execution, compliance, and innovation of payment processes.
Fraud And Claims Management: Partners with product, channel, risk, and technology teams to develop and provide secure, reliable, scalable, and customer-friendly prevention, investigation, and claims services. Reviews account activity, processes check fraud and ACH claims, investigates disputes, and manages identity theft cases.
Global Operations Strategy And Transformation: Provides centralized support and strategic planning to Global Operations, enabling an integrated operating model for better controls, oversight, efficient processes, clear accountabilities, and excellent customer/client experiences.
Global Operations Data, Analytics, And Reporting (DAR): Develops and integrates data, analytics, and reporting plans for Global Operations lines of business, partnering with analytics teams to accelerate the development and adoption of advanced analytic/AI tools.

Eligible applicants will learn more about specific internship opportunities and interview for programs based on interest and availability. Successful participation in this competitive internship may lead to an offer for the 2-year rotational analyst program.

Program Overview:

This is a 10-week professional development program in Summer 2026, providing an overview of Wells Fargo, its operations, business strategies, and corporate culture. The internship includes:
• Relationship building
• Relevant work assignments
• Coaching and performance feedback sessions
• Informative learning sessions with key leaders

It is designed to give undergraduate students (ideally rising juniors) an experiential overview of how various teams within Global Operations support developing, executing, and streamlining business processes across the enterprise. The program incorporates real-world scenarios to prepare interns for a career at Wells Fargo and serves as a pipeline for the full-time Analyst Program.

Program Date & Locations:

Program Date: Summer 2026
Work Week: 40 hours; daily working hours based on business need.
Program Locations: Charlotte, NC; Minneapolis, MN; Phoenix, AZ; St. Louis, MO; Des Moines, IA; Dallas, TX.

In This Role, You Will:

• Participate in formal early talent program and workshop initiatives.
• Review various assignments to become familiar with policies and procedures for low-to-medium risk tasks.
• Receive direction from managers while exercising independent judgment.
• Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
• Take part in team projects, tasks, and activities to gain exposure to various Wells Fargo businesses, supporting strategic priorities and reporting.
• Utilize Microsoft products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) to create communications, gather data, story-tell on outcomes, and organize priorities.
• Develop partnerships, consulting, regulatory focus, risk assessment, data analytics, and other key competencies through classroom and on-the-job training.
• Engage in experiential learning on fundamentals of financial services.
• Contribute to process improvement, enhancement, mapping, automation, and operational efficiency programs and projects.
• Partner alongside various Operations teams on daily functions and responsibilities.
• Take part in non-business-related stretch assignments (e.g., DE&I, employee engagement, community service).
• Maintain contact with leaders at all levels, including senior management, team members, individual contributors, and/or vendors.
• Create presentations and visuals to assist with documenting business requirements.
• Complete assigned projects/tasks and prepare for relevant industry certifications as part of professional development.

Required Qualifications:

6+ months of work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree candidate with an expected graduation in December 2026 – May/June 2027.
• Experience using Microsoft Office suite of products.
• Knowledge and/or experience in the financial services industry.
• Demonstrated interest and/or experience in manipulating data and reporting, data visualization, and/or data insights.
• BA/BS degree with an interest in any of the following: Business Administration, Business Intelligence, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Technology, Communication, Accounting, Mathematics, Analytics, Physics, Political Science, Pre-law, Government, Policy and Management, Computer Science, Management and Risk Management or related business field.
• Data analytics, including experience in SQL, PowerBI, JIRA, SharePoint, and/or Tableau.
• Experience in Agile methodology.

Job Expectations:

• Ability to travel 10% or more of the time.

Pay Range and Benefits:

Pay Range: $18.00 – $65.00 (base pay, actual pay may vary based on factors like achievements, skills, experience, or work location).
