About the Internship

As a FedEx Intern, you will gain valuable, real-world experience working on projects in a professional environment, directly related to your field of study.

Internship Focus & Desired Background

This intern position is specifically centered on Generative AI and AI-related topics and projects. The ideal candidate should possess a solid understanding of:

  • Statistics
  • Data Structures
  • Generative AI concepts

Major of Study Preference: Computer Science or Computer Engineering are preferred. Engineering degrees with Analytics and Data experience are also acceptable.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities

  • Present and deliver long-term solutions that will have significant impacts on the business and/or customer experience.
  • Participate in various networking and/or community service events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Currently enrolled student or recent college graduate (within 6 months of graduation) from a college/university.
  • GPA: 3.0 or higher.
  • Degree: Computer Science, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.

Experience:

No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Python
  • Data structure experience
  • JavaScript
  • PySpark
  • Knowledge of machine learning and AI algorithms
  • Understanding of large language models (LLMs)
  • Experience working with big data

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to work productively and proactively, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage various tasks, and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective communication across business units and with all levels of management.
  • Ability to analyze, review, and make recommendations.

Program Details & Compensation

Pay:

  • Undergraduates: $25/hour
  • Graduates: $30/hour

Relocation Stipend:

A $2,000 stipend is available for those relocating over 50 miles for an on-site or hybrid internship or co-op experience.

Program Duration & Hours:

  • Duration: 10-week program
  • Dates: June 8th – August 14th
  • Hours: 40 hours/week
