General Manager I Store 3085 Baker, MT | Advance Auto Parts

The Tone:
This is a full-time General Manager role at Advance Auto Parts, located in Baker, MT. As a prominent automotive aftermarket retailer, Advance Auto Parts focuses on inspiring teams, helping customers succeed, and growing the business with integrity. This position is vital for overseeing professional-level sales and management functions, ensuring the store’s financial performance, and upholding service and appearance standards. The role requires a minimum commitment of 50-55 hours per week, including rotating nights and weekends.

• Team: Leads a team of 10-20 store Team Members.
• Mission: Owns achieving financial metrics, maintaining service and appearance standards, and growing the store’s business by inspiring the team and serving customers.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, POS systems, Parts lookup systems, inventory systems, store equipment, testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Achieve overall store sales goals and meet service objectives.
• Manage and expand professional customer relationships and sales, including building and executing customer action plans.
• Select, hire, develop, and coach store Team Members for performance management, scheduling, and engagement.
• Ensure the consistent execution of all inventory and operational standards within the store.
• Oversee manager-on-duty responsibilities, including floor management, task assignment and completion, safety, and open/close duties.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager level. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Working knowledge of automotive systems is preferred.
• Experience: 2-3 years of experience managing a team of 10-20 Team Members in a retail environment. Proven financial and business acumen, including successful experience managing profitability.
• Skills: Communicate effectively in English (written and spoken) and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management. Proficiently use Microsoft Word and Excel. Perform calculations for figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, and gross profit. Review and analyze business reports, including profit and loss statements. Possess advanced parts lookup and sourcing capabilities.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree in business or a related area, ability to speak Spanish, ASE Certification or the ability to become ASE P2 certified.
