Job Description: General Helper

International Paper is seeking a dedicated and versatile General Helper to join our manufacturing team. This role is essential for maintaining efficient operations, ensuring product quality, and contributing to a safe and productive work environment. If you have previous manufacturing experience and are ready to contribute to a leading global supplier of renewable fiber-based products, we encourage you to apply.

The Job You Will Perform:

  • Ability to work any shift, including some 12-hour shifts, to meet customer demands.
  • Work around conveyors, crosswalks, and in some cases from elevated platforms, as product is moved between operations.
  • Transport product and materials, including ink buckets, stitch wire boxes, coils of strapping, and over-sized cutting dies.
  • Perform tasks in a timely fashion, following all safety procedures and ensuring quality product arrives at the next operation.
  • Complete required paperwork for tracking inventory, downtime, etc., as well as computer data entry relating to production metrics.
  • Fill a variety of roles, including, but not limited to:
    • Working at the Die Cutter Pusher Bar
    • Double-Head Stitcher
    • Semi-Stitcher
    • Jumbo Folder Gluer Helper
    • Stock Handler
    • Corrugator Stacker Operator
  • Counting and stacking finished product.
  • Reading factory orders.
  • Accurately completing quality and administrative documents and following directions.
  • Perform clean-up functions such as blowing down the machine, wiping off shafts, cleaning ink systems, vacuuming and sweeping the machine area, as well as picking up and shredding scrap.

The Skills You Will Bring:

  • Previous manufacturing experience required.
  • Counting and stacking finished product.
  • Reading factory orders.
  • Ability to accurately read gauges and other test equipment.
  • Proficiency in basic shop math.
  • Strong attention to detail for inspecting products.
  • Capability to accurately complete quality and administrative documents.
  • Ability to follow directions effectively.
  • A strong commitment to safety practices.
