Gate Administrator | Professional Transportation, Inc.

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Professional Transportation, Inc., located in Silverbow, MT. Professional Transportation, Inc. plays a critical role in supporting employee operations and essential logistics by managing and coordinating gate activity at customer facilities. This position is vital for maintaining the flow of transportation and ensuring the overall safety and efficiency of operations. The Gate Administrator acts as the frontline for facility access, combining administrative duties with operational oversight and the precise use of technology to manage the entry and exit of vehicles, employees, and customers.

• Mission: Manage and coordinate gate activity to ensure safe and efficient entry and exit of vehicles, employees, and customers at the customer facility.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Facility Access Management: Verify required credentials and visually inspect IDs for all persons entering the customer facility, ensuring only authorized individuals gain access, and announce all visitors entry onto the property for coordinated awareness.
• Equipment and Driver Inspection: Inspect in-gating equipment for any damages and accurately document findings, and safely utilize handheld electronic devices to verify and scan driver missions as they in-gate and out-gate to maintain correct inventory.
• Directional Guidance and Coordination: Direct third-party drivers and customers to their designated locations within the facility, providing clear instructions and understanding outbound destinations to modify destination restrictions as needed.
• Administrative and Support Duties: Perform necessary administrative tasks such as answering phones, assisting employees and customers with questions, and working closely with Company and Customer management to ensure compliance with facility and Company rules.
• Site Safety and Organization: Maintain continuous awareness of ground surfaces, identifying and addressing potential hazards like potholes, debris, and slippery conditions, while also securing gate locking and crash protection as warranted, and performing general housekeeping.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Must be able to maintain eRail certification credentials as required by the railroad.
• Experience: Valid driver’s license. Basic computer skills and general technology proficiency.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with a variety of individuals; ability to work in all outdoor conditions including rain, snow, ice, heat, wind, and cold; ability to travel throughout the yard or facility by walking or driving as needed; must be able to see and hear moving equipment to ensure personal and site safety.
