Management Company Accounting Specialist | Standish Management, LLC
The Tone:
This is a full-time accounting role at Standish Management, LLC, based in California. Standish Management is a dedicated provider of specialized fund administration services for Managers and General Partners involved in private equity funds, spanning Buy-out, Venture Capital, Real Estate, and Fund-of-Funds sectors. Beyond core administration, the company assists new General Partners with consulting to accelerate fund launches and supports established General Partners with services and technology to scale fund operations efficiently. This Management Company Accounting Specialist position is fundamental to Standish Management’s internal financial operations, playing a critical role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and overall financial integrity, which in turn underpins the company’s ability to provide high-quality services to its diverse client base.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage Foundational Accounting: Accurately perform duties related to accounts payable and receivable.
• Maintain Financial Records: Book journal entries, conduct bank reconciliations, and maintain the general ledger.
• Support Financial Reporting: Reconcile credit cards and expense reports, and assist with monthly or quarterly reporting requirements.
• Ensure Tax Compliance: Prepare 1099s and provide support for federal, state, and local tax compliance.
• Manage Accounting Systems & Requests: Maintain various web-based accounting platforms and work on ad hoc requests from clients.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is a mandatory requirement for this role, positioning it as an excellent opportunity for an entry-level career professional.
• Experience: While not strictly required, 0-1 year of accounting and general ledger experience is highly preferred, demonstrating a foundational understanding of core accounting practices.
• Skills: Essential skills include strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and familiarity with QuickBooks or other widely used accounting software. Candidates must also exhibit strong attention to detail and robust organizational skills to manage diverse financial tasks effectively.
