Job Description: FP&A Analyst (Job Costing – Manufacturing)
This is a full-time position in Midland, Texas, reporting to the Head of Finance. The role focuses on financial planning and analysis (FP&A) with a strong emphasis on job costing within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented and analytical individual who can collaborate effectively with various teams.
Key Responsibilities:
The role encompasses a broad range of FP&A responsibilities, including:
• Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning; performing variance analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities; developing and maintaining financial models; preparing regular financial reports; supporting cash flow forecasting and working capital analysis; creating dashboards and reports to visualize financial performance.
• Job Costing & Cost Analysis: Analyzing direct and indirect costs (labor, materials, overhead); working with production teams to track job costs and ensure proper allocation; conducting job profitability analysis to identify inefficiencies; ensuring accurate application of standard costing methodologies; monitoring inventory valuation, material usage, and waste; supporting cost roll-ups and Bill of Materials (BOM) analysis.
• Process Improvement & Compliance: Collaborating with accounting and operations to maintain financial accuracy and compliance; supporting internal and external audits; supporting ERP system enhancements; staying current on manufacturing finance trends and best practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Experience: 1-3 years of experience in job costing or financial analysis within a manufacturing environment (internships included).
• Technical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficiency in Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, VBA a plus) and financial software (SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, QuickBooks, or similar); knowledge of job costing principles, standard costing, and manufacturing cost accounting; experience with ERP systems and data visualization tools.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
