FP&A Analyst (Future Fractional CFO Track) | Tee Up Advisors
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Tee Up Advisors, operating remotely. Tee Up Advisors is a modern fractional CFO and FP&A firm, founded by Bob Wang, a former Big 4 accountant, SaaS CFO, and private equity professional. We serve entrepreneurs, fast-growing service companies, and PE-backed operators, providing high-touch financial partnership to companies ranging from $3 million to $100 million in revenue across various industries including SaaS, fintech, manufacturing, healthcare, education, and professional services. This full-time role is designed for someone sharp, driven, and ready to accelerate, offering direct collaboration with our CFO across multiple client engagements. The position is unique in its focus on enabling business owners to build enduringly profitable companies, while simultaneously developing the incumbent into a future Fractional CFO.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Modeling: Build and maintain multi-year financial models across multiple clients, ensuring clear architecture and valid assumptions. This includes updating forecasts, scenarios, and cashflow projections to support strategic planning.
• Business Analysis: Systematically analyze revenue, margins, expenses, and operational trends for various businesses. The goal is to identify critical risks and opportunities, translating raw data into strategic, actionable recommendations for client leadership.
• Accounting Integrity: Proactively investigate and resolve complex accounting inconsistencies or errors. This involves reconciling key accounts, validating data integrity, and collaborating closely with client accounting teams to implement lasting root-cause solutions.
• Process Improvement: Develop and refine essential financial policies, templates, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This also includes improving reporting workflows across multiple client companies and standardizing best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Client Engagement: Grow into a client-facing advisor by joining client calls and financial reviews. This responsibility involves supporting CEOs, founders, and leadership teams, and learning to communicate complex financial findings in a way that drives business forward.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Seeking an early to mid-career professional with 1 to 4 years of experience gained in FP&A, audit, corporate finance, consulting, or another analytical role. A strong foundational understanding of accounting principles and financial statements is essential for success in this position.
• Experience: Proven ability in advanced Excel/Sheets modeling, demonstrating proficiency in building robust financial tools. This role also requires the capacity to work independently and effectively manage tasks with minimal instruction or oversight.
• Skills: Core skills include advanced financial modeling, a deep understanding of accounting and financial statements, proficient financial forecasting, and strong data analysis capabilities. The ideal candidate also possesses hunger, curiosity, and ambition to grow into a strategic finance leader.
• Bonus: Beneficial qualifications include prior experience in industries such as SaaS, fintech, manufacturing, professional services, or private equity environments. Experience in building models from scratch or cleaning up messy financial models, hands-on work in month-end close or account reconciliations, and exposure to multi-entity or multi-client environments are also a plus.
