Founder’s Associate | Constractiva

The Tone:
This is an apprenticeship role at Constractiva, located in Los Angeles, CA. Constractiva is a licensed General B contractor that is building a technology platform to transform how construction work is scoped, priced, and delivered. The role also supports Zuma Housing, which manages student housing in Westwood and prioritizes an exceptional resident experience. This position offers direct mentorship from the founder, providing an immersive experience in operating a company at the intersection of real estate, construction, and technology development.

The TL;DR
• Role: Founder’s Associate
• Type: Full-time (includes some evenings and weekends during peak leasing season)
• Location: In-person, Westwood, Los Angeles, CA
• Pay: $55000–$65000 yearly
• Team: Reports directly to the Founder.
• Mission: This person will learn to operate a real estate and construction business from the inside, contributing to project coordination, property management, and product development.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Construction Project Coordination: Triage incoming work requests, coordinate subcontractors and schedules, and track active jobs from request through completion and invoicing.
• Client Proposal Development: Assemble comprehensive client proposals, including scoping, pricing support, formatting, and follow-through.
• Property Operations & Leasing: Conduct apartment showings, guide prospective residents through the leasing process, and coordinate part-time leasing staff during peak seasons.
• Resident Support & Field Assessment: Serve as a point of contact for residents, coordinate resolution of their requests, and walk units to identify maintenance issues and improvement opportunities.
• Product Testing & Feedback: Utilize the construction technology platform daily in real work, document friction and opportunities, and contribute field perspective to product discussions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level; a person who learns fast and doesn’t need to be asked twice.
• Experience: No specific years required; a history of being handed something unfamiliar and figuring it out.
• Skills: Exceptional organizational and administrative skills, strong written communication, genuine comfort with technology, valid California driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
• Bonus: Curiosity about how buildings work and what things cost, any exposure to construction, property management, hospitality, or operations, bilingual English/Spanish.
