About the Food and Nutrition Services Department

The mission of the Food and Nutrition Services department at Missouri Baptist Medical Center is to deliver nutritionally balanced meals and provide medical nutrition therapy for patients, staff, and visitors. We achieve this by working collaboratively with the facility’s nursing, ancillary, and medical staff professionals. Our licensed clinical dietitians offer medical nutrition therapy to both inpatients and outpatients, tailored to their specific medical needs. The department’s patient services, production, and retail teams are dedicated to delivering a diverse range of food offerings daily that are nutritionally balanced, healthy, flavorful, and fresh for the hospital’s patients, employees, and visitors.

Role Purpose

As a Food Service Worker, you will play a vital role in providing quality food service to cafeteria customers, ensuring speed of service and exceptional customer courtesy. This position involves performing a variety of food service functions, including food preparation, setting up service areas with food, utensils, and garnishments, accurate food portioning, serving, maintaining sanitation standards, and assisting with customer requests.

Responsibilities

  • Provides customer service in a professional and friendly manner, adhering to food safety and portion guidelines.
  • Ensures the work area is properly set up and that supplies and products are organized before, during, and after shifts.
  • Cleans and sanitizes the workstation and utensils diligently.
  • Uses equipment and materials correctly and safely.
  • Accurately assembles meals according to the menu, diet order, and established protocols.

Schedule and Hours

  • Full-Time Role: 40 Hours a Week
  • Shift: 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM
  • Availability: Must work every weekend and participate in a holiday rotation.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience: <2 years
  • Supervisor Experience: No Experience required

Preferred Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
